Loading Superintendence

Loading superintendence is a simple yet vital risk mitigation measure that may remove or reduce potentially devastating, and yet avoidable losses . Our Agricultural Services provides insights for managing risks with the transparency and traceability needed to thrive in a competitively global business environment, safeguard your interests on the ground and effectively monitor/manage your stocks. Our dual site operations guarantees you the safety of your cargo by closely monitoring the cargo to its final destination.

The objectives of loading Supervision is to verify during loading that the correct material/grade/ products is safely and securely handled. Our company specialists will provide you with the

assurance that the quality and safety requirements are met and that the goods are handled correctly and safely to the customers .

Pre-loading Inspection

An intensive inspection prior to loading is performed to minimize your financial exposure due to weight and/or quality discrepancies while your product is intransit. All Kathland inspectors are fully trained to conduct thorough pre-loading Inspection and closely monitor the trucks that are fully compliant . Before loading, all trucks must pass Safe to Load Minimum requirements. We check among other things the:

  • Driver is equipped with appropriate PPE , has a valid Driving Licence and is fit to drive
  • There are no signs of leaks from the tank, pipe work or
  • Truck Seat belts in good condition and retractable
  • Sealing Mechanism is in good working and no signs of tampering or cracks
  • Trucks Dipping/Weighing;
  • To Ascertain the volume loaded onto the trucks is as what was dispensed by the meter, Our
  • Inspectors Instructs the drivers to park their trucks on an even ground where dipping can be done. Our Inspectors reconfirm dip stick consistent with product level for the loaded compartment and shall flag any discrepancy for corrective action including rechecking if truck calibration is incorrect or meter under/overloaded. The ullage shall be recorded on the Loading Our Inspectors
  • witness weighing before and after loading and the weights summary is shared in our daily reports.
  • Our Site Supervisor shall prepare dips charts based on average performance for each truck compartment. Chart shall be updated every six months following meters calibration or whenever a truck is taken for calibration or new truck introduced into the delivery
  • For all transit and Duty Exempt loadings, Our Inspectors ensure that the truck is doped and a doping tag number is indicated for correct documentation.

Trucks Sealing;

Kathland west Africa is committed to ensuring the security and Integrity of our customers products from storage tanks/point of loading to the final destination. As soon as loading has been completed, on client’s special request, we seal trucks with Kathland serialized seals to reduce the risk of

tampering, theft and introduction of unwanted materials. Our Inspectors are well conversant with Sealing techniques and they; in addition, we gauge the tanks, record tanks movements and monitor stocks level at all times.

  • Know the locking procedures, design and features of the seals
  • Verify the seals are intact after sealing and properly documented on the loading advise
  • Apply seals securely according to the Standard Operating Procedures and report any anomaly to Site Supervisor for

Warehouse Inspection

  • Our warehouse surveys provides vital information about the warehouse intended to be used for SMA/CMA From Warehouse Structural Integrity, security, Operational Capability or distance to transport routes, Our surveys gives detailed information to help our clients make an informed decisions and give them the assurance that the warehouse is able to meet their needs.
  • Kathland range of inspection services ensures the integrity of your cargo at every stage of the supply chain, making sure they reach the final destination with the agreed quantity and quality parameters. We inspect storage facilities thoroughly and monitor your goods throughout the supply We perform cleanliness inspections to make sure that storage units are free from odor, moisture, foreign matters, previous cargo residues or pest infestation. Our independent
  • surveys provides documentation for possible damage Warehouse loading/unloading supervision services have been developed in response to increasingly demanding markets, reducing possible mishandling of commodities and thus costly claims.

Warehouse Inspection

Additional Services;

Prior to vessel discharge and to ensure goods under CMA/SMA duly arrived on a clean receipt. We aim to ensure products are loaded/received correctly in the warehouse, Other additional services include:

  • Draft Surveys, Break Bulk and Discharge Supervision
  • Traceability of products – including verification of production codes, plant numbers and stock numbers against a packing list or invoice
  • Photographs of packing and loading/unloading processes, along with documentation of any damage observed during loading/unloading
  • Monitoring the goods from disport to Warehouse
  • Quantity verification/weighing and Commodities receipt into a Warehouse

Stocks Monitoring Agreements;

Kathland Stocks Monitoring allows traceability of the goods along the supply chain, the stored commodities are usually pledged to the banks and serve as Collateral. Our staff on the ground possess in-depth experience and knowledge of the local environment thus are able to provide continuous monitoring services, and or periodic spot inspection services to witness the movement and condition of the commodities. In case of damage or misapplication of the commodities, the parties concerned are notified to take prompt remedial action.
